Discovery Reply™ products suite has been ideated and realized to give an answer to the new multimedia industry needs, facing the increasing complexity in the digital media management, providing advanced tools to simplify the process of media ingest, encoding, documenting, archiving and delivery. In order to fulfil the specific needs of Telco companies, Reply developed a special declination of his core product, Discovery Reply™ Multimedia, named Discovery Reply™ Mobile Live Streaming.
Discovery Reply™ MLS is a web based application, allowing to manage, encode, monitor and stream live digital channels (DVB-T and DVB-S) sent to mobile phones through the integration provided by the Streaming Server infrastructure.
The solution includes a number of professional digital decoders remotely controlled and monitored by Discovery Agents running on separate servers. Each server manages a decoder and the audio and video digitization associated with it. Through a proper integration of software transcoder, each server is able to provide the same channel simultaneously with up to 9 different encoding profiles (mp4, h263, real V8) with different bit-rate to the Streaming Server infrastructure.
Each streaming channel can be controlled (real time preview), monitored for QoS (real time black and blue frame detection, no signal, decoder fault and network disconnection) through a web browser connected with the Discovery Server running on a clustered server. Moreover, an intelligent automatic failover procedure enables to automatically select a free line in case of fault, restabilising the service in few second.
